Our productions take new writing theatre to new audiences. Engaging communities well in advance of performances, we build relationships that ensure the experience of theatre is not just for one night.
New Commission - Other Side of the River
The play is inspired by conversations and research held over a year with residents of Ferguslie Park in Paisley. A creative team is being put together and updates on this production and all associated workshops will be available soon.
Production Development - Lily by Jo Lennie
Funded by Creative Scotland's Open Fund we have been developing Jo Lennie’s new play, ‘Lily’. Originally the recipient of the Progressive Playwright Award 2017 at The Tron Theatre, further work took place on the script and music development with director Allie Winton Butler and musical director David Higham. A sharing of this work was presented at The Traverse Theatre in May 2019. The Play is now ready for touring and the team are exploring funding opportunities.
Independent Productions
In Motion Theatre has a tradition of nurturing new writing talent. Along with our own productions, we are pleased be support new independent productions, and to provide a platform for them on our website, podcast, YouTube and social media channels. Most of these productions can trace their roots back to one of our writing workshops, some have been produced by our creative director Lisa Nicoll, but they are all part of the wider creative community that we as a theatre company aim to encourage and support.
