Forgotten Dreams

Forgotten Dreams

Eight filmed monologues inspired by the theme of forgotten dreams. Each one looks at a sliding door moment in a character’s life, where things could have turned out very differently.

The writers are all members of a Dunoon based playwriting group, and the series is produced in association with Dunoon Burgh Hall, and supported by Creative Scotland with funding from the Scottish Government.

Watch Online

Forgotten Dreams premiered on 25th March 2021. You can watch it from this page, or on our YouTube channel.

The Development Process

The stories were developed over a series of live and recorded workshops and one to one development sessions with playwright, and Creative Director of In Motion Theatre Company, Lisa Nicoll. The plays were then filmed at home under current lockdown restrictions by actors under the watchful eye of Lisa.

The Writers

The short plays written by Yvonne Campkin, Meg Dowds, Julie Forrester, Elaine Graham, Shirley Haunschmidt, Elizabeth Theobald, Juju and Ian Tyson include stories of, unrequited love, lost love, dementia and saying goodbye to a loved one.

The Actors

Actors include Vivien Graham, Sheila Grier, Zoe Hunter, Belle Jones, Paul Kozinski, Alan Orr and Naomi Stirrat, who have all worked extensively in professional Scottish theatre. The Music has been composed by singer/song-writer Biff Smith of a New International.

One of the good things that has come out of the periods of lockdown is creating workshops and writing development sessions online so we can reach all parts of the country.
